Copycat: Sesame Honey Cashews

Copycat Trader Joe’s Sesame Honey Cashews

While I detox, I pay more attention to the “health” foods I’m buying and really look to make them as clean as possible — which usually means I have to make it myself! I totally love the Trader Joe’s Honey Sesame Cashews but they have sugar and are expensive! So I decided to make them in my own kitchen and they are amazing. Toasty, crunchy, sweet, salty — everything you need in a snack (especially while detoxing). Totally clean and so much cheaper! Tip: After they cool, put them in individual containers by serving size so you don’t eat them all day long!

Honey Sesame Cashews

2 cups raw cashews

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp raw honey

2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup sesame seeds

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix cashews, honey, salt and cinnamon until cashews are evenly coated. Add sesame seeds and stir until evenly coated.  Toast nuts on very lightly-oiled cookie sheet (coconut oil, olive oil, ghee, butter, or sesame oil will do) in preheated oven for 8-10 until very lightly browned.
